Mental Health Advocacy Through Storytelling

NAMI Anchorage is a proud partner of MHATS (Mental Health Advocacy Through Storytelling).

MHATS is a youth-led, youth-founded group of Anchorage high school students working to decrease stigma and increase accessibility to mental health resources through true, personal, short stories of mental health struggle and triumph. It runs a twelve week program twice a year, aiming to teach and guide conversations on mental health and storytelling, and help participants develop their own stories on mental health. Storytellers share the story they've developed at a final live event in the style of Arctic Entries/Storyworks/the Moth.
