NAMI Anchorage can help you apply for an Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority behavioral health mini grant. The Trust awards mini grants with an annual limit of one application of up to $2,500 per beneficiary depending upon need. Mini grants are only awarded to NAMI Anchorage on behalf of an individual.
The grant program provides Trust beneficiaries (i.e. people with mental health conditions) with a broad range of equipment, supplies and services to improve their quality of life, increase independent functioning and help them attain and maintain healthy and productive lifestyles. These may include, but are not limited to, therapeutic devices, access to special health care, and other supplies or services that might improve an individual’s ability to function in the community and become self-sufficient.
This grant requires coordination between the applicant, NAMI Anchorage, the applicant's mental health provider(s), and vendor(s). To begin the mini grant application process with NAMI Anchorage, you must attend an intake appointment with Lily Werts, the NAMI Anchorage program manager. At the intake appointment, you will learn about the mini grant program process, review the Trust's mini grant guidelines, discuss your situation and why you are seeking the grant, and learn what documents are required for the application and the responsibilities of the applicant to collect these documents.
